OK guys, here's the Quote contest. Place your nominees for the most hysterically funny, embarrassing-in-hindsight, and/or ironic pre-5/15 quote here. Both original blog posts or comments are eligible.And to make this contest actually interesting...quotes from the blogger whose real name is Kent Barclay are not eligible. That goes for his major alias, as well as his numerous minor ones as well.
It actually pains me to do this. But the problem is, if I allow Kent quotes in...he will literally own this contest. I mean, seriously folks, how can any other quote compare with this:
"May 14, 2007...Harlow is the SUCCESSFUL version of Brent Corrigan...Tonight, an overview and analysis of Cuadra with comparison to the career of BRENT CORRIGAN to date."
Fast foward 24 hours to May 15, and now...it's comparison time! Harlow: IN JAIL. Brent: NOT in jail. LOL! x 1,000,000,000,000,000....
Lets face it folks, THIS quote, if I were to allow it in, would be the 800 lb gorilla in the contest. It could not possibly lose, making this whole contest a bit of a snoozer.
And the problem is compounded by the fact that Kent said SO many stupid things prior to the arrest, that not only would the above take the gold, but other quotes by him would easily take the silver and the bronze (and the copper and the iron and the lead...) as well.
So, in the interests of actually having an interesting competition here, I am going to simply have to exclude Kent entries entirely.
Like I said, I do feel kinda bad about this, really. Excluding the best and brightest from a contest, even with the best of motives...I see and feel the fundamental unfairness in this, yes. Perhaps we can create some sort of Limetime Achievement for Idiotic Kocis Blogging award, and bestow it upon him on Arrest Day to partly make up for this.
Anyways, with that said and done...on to the nominations! Send them via comment to the thread; include the actual quote, the screenname of who posted it and (if possible) a link to it. We'll close nominations on May 12, and then I'll set up a poll to determine the winner, which will be announced of course on May 15.
