Meant strictly as a helpful resource note-
Brents auction system is difficult-
maybe it is just that I AM computer challenged, but when I went to bid I could not because I could not remember my password and then just entering your email address to get started comes back with "that email address is already registered" but no help with the forgotten password-
difficult auction system :)

DeWayne In San Diego said...

I will let him know VJ and usually what I tell people is register with a new email addy if you have one.

A new web Site is job one anyway.

BTW Jim another reason for the intense jealousy from a certain New Yawk Porn Mogul...

When ML placed his undies on Ebay last year they made him

189.00

I dont think one of Brents auctions has failed to clear the 1000 dollar level.

jim said...

"When ML placed his undies on Ebay last year they made him

189.00"

LOL!

jim said...

Of course, that WAS more than Harlow's undies fetched...

DeWayne In San Diego said...

Oh yeah what did Harlow fetch?

I also note according to Alexa ratings.

Lucas Blog traffic rank 400,185 total comments on Gay VN blog posts 4

BrentCorriganInc/Blog traffic Rank 135,182

Total comments on GayVn post 36

Alexa ratings for Brent roughly 4 times Mr.Lucas.

with all the reports Monday of a drunken slurred Mr.Lucas threatening and bullying websites, reporters and Freshmen magazine I think only one VERY OBVIOUS conclusion can be drawn from the GayVN Awards Brent and Michael Show..

Michael Lucas age 38 is fading fast..

2 expensive lawsuits, the downturn in the DVD market and he sees the Porn Industry he feels he built (Ego mania) is slipping away.

It is

When Chris Ward mentioned that To the Last Man had sold 5000 DVD's in the first 2 months I was reminded by Kevin Clarke his Rad Twink videos were selling 25,000 units plus 5 years ago.

DVD's and Mainline Porn are in freefall.

I think the most stunning rumor coming out of San Fransisco last weekend,,

Bareback titles (as long as AIM testing is used) will be eligible for nomination next year at GayVN.

Mr.Lucas is reported to have a secret unit filming Bareback porn for release this year under an associated label. Coming so soon after his aborted mess (or clusterfuck) with Spunk Video this REEKS of desperation.

I have just one question Jim

How WILL the Paragon Of Porn Purity and Morality explain Releasing Bareback Porn?

This will be fun ;)

jim said...

Yeah I put an Alexa chart on the previous post, but it was measuring their main pages. Interestingly, BCI and LE have been neck and neck.

Which is amazing when you consider LE is a pay site with content, BCI is not (yet). BCI is just a blog, basically.

Brent's current invincibility stems from that large and devoted fan base (of which this auction is a prime example of). As long as he has those fans, he'll never be "forced out of the industry," no matter how badly Lucas (or anyone else) wants that to happen.

IOW, without a trademark lawsuit to use as a revenue denial tool, the worst the Brent haters can accomplish these days is to go to award shows and try to deny him chucks of Lucite (and they arn't even being very successful there, either).

Unzipped just gave Lucas the one-fingered Irish wave when he tried to get Brent kicked off the cover of Freshmen.

DeW, when will Big Easy be released? I'm going to be very curious to see what The Lucas Effect (TM) will have on it's first week JRL charting.

DeWayne In San Diego said...

Big Easy should see a late April Release. And yes a BIG Promotional Push!

DeWayne In San Diego said...

Jim you have been having some issues with comments I had posted a Long reply about Big easy it just dissipated. ;)

I kept looking I thought I KNOW I hit Submit.

jim said...

Yes, things have been glitchy here...not sure what's going on, hopefully blogger will fix soon.

I also did not get my app accepted. Twice over the last two years I think I tried and was rejected. Perhaps I need to try a fresh email AND IP address.

Changing your IP address once in a while is not at all a bad thing if you know what I mean. ;)

But anyway, I wanted to post something nice in his blog and never did.

Speaking of Harlow Jim,

You know within just a couple of days after his conviction all of Harlow's myspace, defense fund page and his mother's site went out and down.

I had kind of wondered if Harlow would actually live on forever on myspace.

will g said...

V.J., the last I heard you were collecting Faberge eggs. Now you're in the market for the used clothing of a porn star? Have you gone mad? You know you'll just wind up throwing the package in the closet upopened like you did with the "Free Harlow" T-shirt. Be sensible.

jim said...

Yeah, it's interesting they took ALL the Harlow sites down.

I still think Harlow will appeal, but I think he and his family have finally figured out the bulk of his old online "supporters" supported him with very poor, ultimately self-serving advice, and made his current situation much worse than it could have been.

I probably opine more on this later.

jim said...

IMO, Brent should auction off the Jetta. Yes, the one with a certain evil spirit said to be haunting it's fuel injection system.

Now that would be an auction!

Anonymous said...

Will,
LOL!!!!
Like I told CC-
it's a good cause and if I ever won, donation would be made to the Humane Society-
not of the undies :)
but the amount- and the undies would go to the runner up bidder-

CC said -
"you would take those undies from someone who would wish to be buried in them?"
made me laugh- remembering the last auction and a fan said just that-
he wished to be buried in them-
now THAT is a fan base! :)

Anonymous said...

btw, Will I still have that "free harlow t-shirt" unopened - for you :)

Geoff Harvard said...

I couldn't remember my Brent auction log in, so I just used my gmail log in info. It worked.

The last thing I want draining my resources or arriving on my doorstep is Sean Lockhart's 2003 sceneboy getup, but I always bid just to bump the price up.

lol!! Geoff!

jim regarding what you said about Harlow supporters.
Funny/Strange how some of us [bloggers] are on the same page sometimes.
I have been thinking about his situation-
it is strange how we [bloggers] really were "into" this case- still are but there is not much of it left and it seems to pretty much have disappeared, at least it seems that way.

I am glad you will "opine" :) on that particular topic soon-
[supporters]-
it is a good one - and I think there is lots of unanswered stuff there-
people just disappearing -
those who were wrong- [I did not say bb :)]-
and all of the BS that went with these people as if what they had to say was never said-
Kind of Twilight Zonish-
It is just over-
which is good-

But for all of that, if he had recieved the Death Penalty that [at least for me] would have been Nightmare Material-
the stuff that true Nightmares are made of.
He is where he should be in prison.

The Cletus Cap is a classic its so "Brent 2004"

The cap and the backpack were used in the opening scene in Poolboy to set the mood and circumstances of this homeless (but cocky) waif on the beach in Ft Lauderdale ;)

I was surprised Harlows My Space went down, so many just live on static.

If you know where to look Sean's My Space from 2004 is still on the site. I asked him about it and he said he had forgotten the Password/email combo, he was surprised it was still up.

Jody said...

I've long wondered if and when bareback titles would go "mainstream" and become the new revenue centers for even the largest of studios.

While I don't follow it as religiously as some people, over the years I have looked at some of those ratings charts. Bareback titles continue to grow in popularity and profit.

In this era of decreasing porn revenues, it probably makes good business sense to have a line of bareback porn. Ethically, though, it seems to be another, darker story altogether.

Geoff Harvard said...

Jody, next month I am casting my first bareback kink feature, "Sceneboys in Bondage." I am looking for boys under 21 and under military minimum weight standards, that is, BMI <17.2. It will save us time and expense if their hair is already died black and if they have their own wardrobe, such as womens' 1X jeans and black t-shirts with logos such as, "Do I Make You Look Fat." Rhinestone or white belts. Checkered Vans or Chucks. Daily pickup will be at 7 a. m. in the old McNamara Pontiac used car lot at Colonial and OBT. Free sausage biscuits in the a. m.

Geoff Harvard said...

And for planning purposes, it's about 20 minutes on the 30 bus from Covenant House in to the old McNamara's downtown. Those taking that option may choose between $1.50 bus fare reimbursement or the sausage biscuits.

Jody said...

And that Geoff is pretty much my point.

Albert said...

You two Cecil B. DeMill types have lost me.
Is sausage really the only option with the biscuits?

Albert said...

I have it on good authority that the last auction (for a Merman poster) went for $1900.00, but that was a charity for the CUAV [Community United Against Violence, in San Francisco.)
This is not so much a charity event

Albert said...

The question about the sausage is because, well,...I am a bottom boy. I mean, are you filming on the same day? Sausage may not be advisable in that case.

DeWayne In San Diego said...

Oysters and Snails,, I prefer oysters to sausage oh and biscuits with butter and honey...

of course if you offer a Mountain Mikes McKinley (special pizza)

I will bottom! ;)

Per Jim, "Unzipped just gave Lucas the one-fingered Irish wave when he tried to get Brent kicked off the cover of Freshmen."

The one-finger Irish salute is all Michael Lucas deserves.

VJ--

Nostalgia hits us all. Anyway, I like opining away with all of you.
Every man jack of you guys and CC, Brynawel, and Lana, the ladies in the room, bring great and varied insights to the case that was. I enjoy the interactions.

The Harlow-Joe thing is a wrap, but I am sure we all can think of some enigmas that have us wondering.

I hope Brent makes a small killing on this auction.

Geoff Harvard said...

"Is sausage really the only option with the biscuits?"

Albert, we have to buy a sacks o' something at the BK drive thru at 6:30. Beggars can't be choosers. You and Dewayne quit volunteering; the thought of it makes me sick.

----

Yes VJ, but in court where these supporters should have been, there was rows of empty seats. John R. and his porn star friend who said that they were behind Harlow never sat foot in PA. In court it was very hard to imagine the circus of "Free the Wrongly Accused" and those others that said they know Harlow is innocent (when you are in that court room with the evidence).

None of those people went to Wilkes Barre support Harlow. It was trolls and others who that just wanted some attention, or publicity for their projects that claimed to be behind Harlow for the most part.

Yes, I also agree that prison is a good place where Harlow's talent can be used to lesser extent, but at least used. Death would be a waste. Sure you would get to see Harlow cry like a baby for ten minutes, and cry real tears of regret, and even say how very very sorry he is for being born good looking rather than smart. Or just sorry for being born.

But then it would be over, and everyone would feel cheated, left with nothing.

This way there can be the 5, 10, or 20 year follow up which could be interesting, or just plain sad. He could pack on the pounds, go gray, and look like he's 59 way before his time.

But this case sure captivated a few of us.

I look forward to that "Chinchilla Jim" post as well.

Quicky,
You have a way of making me sit up straight when I read your comments :)
The depth of your feelings regarding this case and Harlow-
well, it cuts right to the core of it.
I know you could add to a commentary about the "supporter" situation - from the courtroom point of view.

That sounds horrendous!
I never really thought about who was there - aside from the families.

No Jason Ridge-
who says "nobody is my friend anymore if they are Brents friend"
or some such bullshit-
Jason wants to be 10 years old again.
John Roecker - Jasons ex boyfriend and a useless supporter.

@Rob
I am truly honoured as I sometimes feel that I don’t get a response because I am not familiar with the other bloggers. On Queerty I tried to trigger a threat on ethical and legal questions (about "sex with/of minors") and failed, but later on two guys with a background in law started a very good and detailed discussion that is worth reading and continuing, but as someone rightly predicted, those BC vs ML conversations basically died down (because their primary cause is really exhausted).
As for the auction, I have a question to those who know Brent in the flesh, or let’s say, in person: has his body really changed so much since 2004 that he cannot pull those shorts over his butt or is it pure kink? If the latter, I just love this lewd display in public daylight.

quickysrt said...

I imagined that during the breaks - all these people would be outside talking about the trial, some having a cigarette break, filmmakers, a writer or two, bloggers, witnesses, and the odd porn star, friends of Harlow and Joe's, some kind of congegation of all of us.

But no, it was only me outside alone looking at the dozen steps leading up to the entrance. I realized I was going to have to dig in a bit and find the heart of the matter because it was not going to jump out at me with colorful characters and commentators giving opinions, and "supporters" reasoning their views.

I'll write more when Jim posts his topic.

jim said...

With 15 seconds to go, Albert is in the lead...congratulations?

I guess Harlow and Joe never really needed Brent to make a million dollars. All they needed was his wardrobe. :-)

DeWayne In San Diego said...

hmm Brent gets 5 times what Michael got on Ebay!

Yes I KNEW Albert would snag this he need to do a photo collage of ALL HIS Brent Loot!

Congratulations to Marcolearn. He fought a good battle.

Lana--

My privilege and a distinct honor. I have read your comments and you have a smart laser beam focus take on points raised.

Our very own Eric Severeid, the late CBS News Commentator, turned out to be Quicky. Quicky brought the truth home unvarnished. He's a tremendous writer with plenty of soul. You remarks and observations made this very human Quicky. Thank you.

I think you have rightly asked what happened to all of the Harlow supporters? They were present and highly vocal for a long time. One of his main cheerleaders walked off from the Harlow cheering section and has become a latter day Harlow revisionist, suggesting in the know all along but dangling Harlow bait in the hopes people would buy it hook, line, and sinker while trying to indicate Sean and Grant still manipulated events.

That really leaves one wondering. Harlow's supporters were just marking time with the predictament of Harlow's and Joe's own creation. No real concern, just a means to be in limelight while the the Night in the Funhouse lasted.

Geoff Harvard said...

Albert, you dodged a bullet. i would send Brent $1050 NOT to send me that crap. Why do you think Goodwill wouldn't take it?

Albert said...

I would pay Marcolearn's bid just for the hat but thank you so much for the kind words.
