Brent: The Book

Yep, it's a coming:

I envision "Siren's Tale" with a bit more detail, and being finished thru to the end of the Harlow and Joe trial. A perfect ending point, IMO.

Thanks to some tipsters (who have sworn me to secrecy), I know a bit of "behind the scenes" drama that swirled about Brent after the murder...drama that's never been publically revealed, that I assume has been held back for this book, and will absolutely knock you socks off when you finally read about it! So yeah, if it's all included (and I can't imagine it won't be!) we are talking about a gay best seller here, easily. Think of the "blood in the pool" moment from Greg Louganis' autobiography, THAT kind of suspense level. It'll be good, trust me!

Well of course it's never been revealed! You never give the good stuff away for free -- at least wait until the serial rights are sold!

The book most definately will be a hit.
It is hard to imagine that there is "more" that would knock our socks off-

On another note-
went back to read some more of those Queerty comments-
phew!! those guys DO get into it!

I think I know where jim got "drama whores" from-

I knew it wasn't us ;)~

Jim--

A single book on Brent? More like a follow-up and a movie as well.

will be a good mixture of tragedy, drama and of course, comedy! :)

Although we would all love to have that book now, I think most would agree, it is too early in his career.
Brent will be much more publicly known before that book comes out. Then it will be a catapult.

Hi Albert--

More like NASA'S Saturn Booster Stage rocket.

Incidentally, I like your Conservative views. Keep providing them. We need the mix.

Albert says,
"most would agree it is too early in his career"

Hi Albert,
We don't see you here enough! :)
You know "everything Brent" alot more than I do and I said this already awhile ago.
I do not think it is too early for his book at all. Actually I think the timing is just right, IMO.
The book, written properly and marketed well would be successful now.
If Brent becomes obscure in the next several years, book will be a total bust IMO.
I wish him success,
and he could always write a second one.

I knew Tracy Lords years ago,
thought about her yesterday,
I don't even know what she is doing now,
use to model with Jon Enos her ex.
[What a hottie btw]
I don't know what happened to her,
but then I have not tried to find out-
point is - a book 10 years ago would ave been good, IMO-
Now- not!

Actually,
the basics-
Brent should have an agent now,
a good one,
one that will make these decisions and time his career moves, and get him off the ground!!!

I agree, Sean should have an agent, one with experience, one that signs contracts and sticks to them with non of the bs sean has had from bryan and his most recent x.

The "Siren's Tale" contained a lot of inconsistencies, omissions, and probable deceptions, not by design, I suppose, but through carelessness. It needed tougher editing and revision.

A shortcut to learning how to write a book length narrative is Syd Fields' "Screenwriter's Workbook." There are also a lot of cheap screenwriting seminars around, especially in socal.

If it were me and I did not have an agent I would try to hire Geoff Harvard in a heartbeat-
to consult with book project.

Actually Geoff its what happens when a LAWYER takes a red pencil to an article.

Pt 4 was heavily edited and pt 5 was SQUASHED!

You lease a BMW Z5 for business. One day you get it detailed and park it in the garage. The next morning you go out, and it has 120 more miles on it than you logged in your daytimer, and the interior is full of beach sand, although the gas tank is still nearly full. Your stepson, Sean, offers a narrative as to what may have happened, and you get the impression that the story is not implausible, but there is weak elaboration and support for the thesis statement. The Siren's Tale has that vibe. Lawyer my ass. And it's a blue pencil.

Albert said...

Geoff, I am not saying there are not apparent contradictions in the Sirens Tale. Maybe there are. I did not see them but you know, D and I have spent a lot of time studying Brent and our brains may fill in the gaps the script does not provide. We read it knowing most of the story already.
If you could be more specific, and we are able, we would be happy to fill in those gaps. If you prefer, you can write me in private at albertntexas@gmail.com

--------------------------

Geoff, this is not directed at you at all. I have made such private offers before to people that made claims they could not back up. (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!)

I have never received any of the evidence to back up any of those claims. NEVER. NO EVIDENCE OR LOGICAL ARGUMENT.
One guy, a friend of the family so to speak, sent me his phone number and will take my calls but has never had the time to discuss his point. On his point, my position remains unchanged.
I completed my last three years of Seminary in Missouri. So in the traditon of that Great State, 'Show Me.'

With Love, Albert

Geoff--

On your points about Sean's 4-part "Siren's Tale," you are mistaken. Sean's old BCO blog posts and contemporaneous interviews coexist with the 4-part series, and those sources covering and even elaborating on points raised in the 4-parter if all these sources did not co-exist, I would be more apt to agree with you.

Additionally, bits and pieces on the BBT's and CCT's back up Sean's abridged autobiography. Consistency between all those various accounts bears out the unity and coherency of what Sean writes.

I think it is clear that people here care for Brent Corrigans welfare and would like to see him succeed in whatever he chooses, mainstream or porn.
Such two different worlds- mixing them to me seems impossible but I believe a good agent or manager would know exactly how to integrate into or out of one or the other for him and get him successful. As far as the book, up to him how he goes about it.
In my experience I have learned - the most valuable tool, your best resource, cannot be matched-
is utilizing your contacts.
Your contacts can move you like nothing else.
I have observed Brent Corrigan and at least one valuable [non porn] contact-
if that gentleman liked Brent,
one begins to get invited to dinner parties where there are others who are very influential in L.A.
Maybe it sounds like shallow stuff, I was never into it myself- but it works like nothing else.

VJ correct and he has several good contacts. I know he has a publicist, an Agent is next on the Agenda,he has his union card!

Since the shit hit the fan in 2005, Brent has had the choice of maintaining a very high profile or else catching the next flight to Pluto. Here is my global theory of the Bryan "Creepy" Kocis murder:

In 2001, Kocis was newly bankrupt, meaning that his debts were discharged then, but that he had to forfeit most of his assets. He could keep his home, but if he wanted to keep his personal property including his clothes, he had to value them on a mark-to-market basis and buy them back from the court, forking over monthly cash payments at his bankruptcy lawyer’s office. He would not be able legitimately to apply for and get credit, except for a low dollar secured credit card, until 2008, which he did not live to see.

I estimate that Kocis could have produced one of his cheesoid dvds for somewhere in the low to mid five figures, assuming he paid the models generously. Where did he get his start-up and continuing operating capital if he were still in bankruptcy? Did he ask his parents for it? Did he dig up a bunch of Chock Full o’ Nuts coffee cans in the back yard? Or did he go to a high-interest underground lender who would be unforgiving about repayment.

Such an underground lender might know a lot about the gay porn industry, be able to judge a project’s probability of success, maintain wide contacts in the industry, have numerous gay porn film clients, and, again, wouldn’t be fucking kidding about taking back the principle and the vig.

All goes well for three years. Kocis makes his films, establishes a Rolodex of models, gets distribution, establishes an industry reputation, and the money starts rolling in. But he fucks it up. He plows his income into lifestyle and not into the business. Small businessmen do not have Rolexes and Maseratis until they retire. Kocis remains dependent on the underground lender for operating capital.

Then the bottom drops out. Kocis has a falling out with a star model. Kocis knows that this may cause his house of cards to collapse. Rather than say nice knowing you and good luck, he mounts a campaign to intimidate and discredit the model. His desperation in emails and phone calls is palpable. Disaster strikes. The model reveals what both he and the model have known from the beginning, that the model was under age at the time of filming, and that the films that secure the underground line of credit are worthless.

The next sixteen months are a maelstrom of desperation. Distributors won’t touch him or his product. Worthless assets. Declining revenue. Mounting interest payments. Repeated threats. He hires lawyers who won’t be paid more than the initial retainer to file lawsuits against insolvent defendants. (Ask Sean Macias what he cleared, or better yet his partners, if he has any.) The underground lenders conclude that they won’t get their money, and decide to make an example of Kocis for the gay porn industry.

Cut to Virginia Beach and Joe and Harlow, who are just as broke and desparate. It is whispered in their ears that maybe they will be allowed to live if only they do this one thing. The whisperers know that Joe and Harlow are incompetent and will be caught, but they also know that these two mooks will not be safe even in prison if they talk.

Yep. Which is why I'd be very interested to know who Bryan's "underground investors" are.

I'm amazed this aspect hasn't been dug at more deeply by people around here.

They may or may not have played a role in getting the "mooks" to commit murder, but it certainly bears looking into.

Bryan definitely had made more enemies out there than just Sean and Grant.

Geoff's theory makes very good sense to me, actually sounds like it could be right on the money.
Until the "cut to Virginia Beach" part-

It is very interesting,
is it possible???

Rob said...

Gentlemen--

I think it is a lead that law enforcement would have pursued given the nature of Kocis' business. However, there was a syndicate of a fashion, but it existed within the circle of Kocis' investors and does not seem to have been part of an organized crime family.
