Update: Times Leader reports that today's "President Judge election to be open to public..."
It'll still be by secret ballot, but for the first time in history "...the vote will immediately be read in open court, however."
Update 2: It so happens, today's public President Judge election will be held in Courtroom 4, which is dominated by the following mural painting:
"...beneath a canopy of crimson and gold brocade, stands Rectitude, with the builder’s triangle and plumb bob. She symbolizes, by her rigidity of attitude, perfect uprightness and evenhandedness. Perhaps someday this will be the future Judge Flora's courtroom too.

Hmmm, and Ciavarella's pet halfway house director blasts back, calling Olszewski's revocations "inhumane," saying they are worse than "the Salem witch trials."Update 5: Via the Times Leader...The Luzerne County courthouse corruption scandal gets it's own web page! It's not bad, although a better name for it would be "Luzerne County... On Trial" I think.

Good luck to Mr Flora. It seems LC is in dire need of a few honest judges.
Flora is an ethical guy. He would be a great addition to the bench.
He was a bit consternated when he learned at the depositions that Kocis had retained the four earlier BC movies on the Cobra Video site, after his having advised Kocis to remove them completely.
Flora had also recused himself from representation of Cuadra and Kerekes because of his representation of Bryan Kocis in the criminal matter of the 15 year old and the civil litigation involving Sean Lockhart.
He has a wealth of experience as both a public defender and the director of that office and as a private practice, trial attorney.
He would definitely be a tremendous judge.

Comment regarding Update 4...seems to me PPO is actively taking a hard line stance against both judical leniancy AND corruption in advance of his re-election campaign later this year.
The implications of this for Team Harlow, I would have to say, are rather ominous.
It does not behoove the halfway house ferret, Jim Casey, to scold a circuit judge, PPO. Their foot shall slide in due time.--Jonathan Edwards.

Short answer seems to be a drastically reduced revenue stream and a stain of malfeasance in office courtesy of the warden's patronage of the two corrupt judges.

Yeah. You know, the more types of corruption like this that get revealed, the more this whole tin-foil hatted "Bryan, was killed, Harlow was framed, to hide corruption in Luzerne County" theory of the crime becomes stupider and stupider.
Why arn't there any dead juvenile boot camp owners in Luzerne County? Or dead public contractors? Or dead auto arbitrators? Or dead halfway house managers?
If the Harlowite theory of the crime held water, people would literally be tripping over dead bodies in the streets in Luzerne County, all victims of PROVEN corruption cover up conspiracies.
Instead, we have one dead Bryan Kocis, whose only past involvement with the court system back then involved an NON-corrupt incident that EVERYONE agrees was merely a clerical error. Judge, defense attorney, clerks from high to low, and the D.A. who negociated the plea all say it was a clerical error. NO ONE who was there has EVER claimed otherwise.
I mean, jeez, look at this main post...FLORA want's to run for judge. And Flora was the defense attorney listed above.
If he's so unworried by the conspiracy nutters' "alternate theory of the crime" that's he's going to run for judge...well, that should tell you all something about the "theory" right there.

That "Total Luzerne County Swamp of Corruption" is more like a rock garden, meditation trickle.
In LC Total Corruption theories, the local meter maid would have been a messenger. Her chalk stick would have been used for marking bodies. Never even remotely close is the case.
Two judges do not a Total Corruption case make.
The Luzerne County DA (headed by David Lupas at the time) was also a party to Bryan Kocis' guilty plea in 2002 (and to the correction to that plea in 2006).
When Mark Ciavarella stepped down as the Judge for Juvenile Court, he appointed former DA David Lupas as the new Judge of Juvenile Court.
The correction in 2006 was about the clerical error! What I charge is that Bryan Kocis PURCHASED a Plea to a lesser charge in 2002 in collusion with Judge Michael T Conahan,The Luzerne County DA AND his attorney Al Flora now angling to be a Judge.
I have already contacted the Local Press over this and the FBI.
Flora is a CROOK! And criminal co conspirator!

Think about it...if he's going to bribe someone to get a good plea deal in 2002, he only needs to co-opt the DA.
There is no need to bribe the judge when he's not a necessary party to the transaction in 2002. To do so would have been an illogical waste of bribe money.
You see, this is where your theory falls apart. If the DA has to be involved (which I agree), then why do they need to bribe Conohan?
Answer: they don't. So logically, Conohan is not involved in this "scandal" ASSUMING it even exists.
Now, when and IF this David Lupas guy gets arrested, THEN you'll be off to the races. He'll be your bad guy. But Conohan? He's meaningless to all this.
This has been the flaw in your logic from day one, which you've been apparantly unwilling to face.
Anways, since I don't see even so much as a rumor out there David Lupas is involved in any of the ongoing FBI investigations I'd say you're basically trying to draw to an inside strait right now.

Not for a plea deal. That's a negociation between the defense atty and the DA. Only.
And by the way...for those of you who thought the plea deal Kocis got was somehow out of the ordinary (and hence MUST be corrupt)...think again:

what they do not realize is Bryan is dead. he is in no position to give a fuck or not as to what people have been saying about him for 3+ years.
what they do not realize is how pathetic they appear due to their actions over a man they hate, a man they wanted dead. they do this to AVOID looking at themselves. somehow, it is easier to continue beating up a dead man.
