This is not meant to be derogatory. I have never understood the fascination with Brent Corrigan.
You mean, from the perspective as a porn star?
I have to admit, those early clips of Brent, looking like a 13 y/o, NOT my type. I like my men post-pubescent, thank you very much.

You say Helen of Troy how about another historical Cultic personality.
I was watching the second season of Rome recently and watching the interplay between Marc Anthony and Cleopatra during the descent into the Roman Civil war. Anthony was gripped with a kind of psycho sexual madness in regards to Cleopatra. Julius Caesar had a similar more Cerebral but nonetheless real fascination as well.
Now the the HBO show depicted Cleopatra as Historians see her. A spoiled petulant woman-child who sought to use the only thing she had going for her, a sexual skill with certain older men. What was that skill? She is described as having the "skills" of an advanced harlot while having the political power of a Queen of Egypt. That is a lethal combination.
You see what I am getting at? Sexual attraction,skill are just part of it, Brent Corrigan warrants attention Because of his Sexual Power over Men. If you do not as V.J. says "understand the fascination" with Brent C your answer will elude you. Just as 2000 years later we fail to understand a Comely Egyptian Queen or Helen of Troy.

Agreed,but in exploring Brent Corrigan do not forget his Catalyst Bryan Kocis. A man who had his own obsessions.(and his own cult)
I frankly never understood Bryan's hold on some Cobra Bois, until I read the August issue of Out (about Barebacking in Gay Porn)and the part about Paul Morris of Treasure Island Media who is described as "a reclusive middle-aged owner,,an ex-hustler with the rugged air of '70s trucker and wields the eerie charisma of a cult leader"
Bryan had a similar attraction for a lot of Cobra boys,he paid well he bought gifts for his favored boys and some plainly adored him! Of course what 18 yo would pass up easy money,easy sex etc.
Bryan was not an Ogre, he was personable (he was reclusive in his neighborhood only) and got on well with many of his Cobra Bois.

I don't understand the fascination either, although I am fascinated. Like Jim, I was hooked by the YouTube clip of Schoolboy Crush. With a glance or an arch of the back, Sean can convey sexual passion in a fraction of a second as well as anyone alive. Jody Wheeler ironically puts me in the "he can't act" category for saying this.
I am not a fan of the Bryan Kocis filmography. His stuff is neither dramatically nor technically competent. The flashes of success stem from the imaginations of his exploited models. The whole purpose of his flawed business model was to support his own gross immorality. I doubt that much money was made from Cobra Videos.

Well, I dunno where else he coulda got it. He bought fancy cars, lots of computers, a nice house full of consumer electronics, and had no aversion towards maintaining a federal lawsuit costing thousands a month in legal and attorney fees.
In fact, I'm an adherent to the theory that the root cause of all anti-Brent sentiment out there is financial in nature...a never-ending howl of pain by Kocis' former (and still-living) business partners.
Bryan struck the proverbial Porn Gold with Brent Corrigan. I had some access to figures cause had an "In" with someone who knew a figure at Marina Pacific. Poolboy was a hit but Schoolboy was a monster hit for Gay porn, then Bareboned Twinks.And get this they were even bigger in Europe!

In 2006 he could afford to expend 100,000 in Legal fees to play "the Rich mans game" (The Lawsuit)
The figures the Gross I heard (split between Bryan,Marina Pacific & Retailers)for the 3 videos was 5 Million an Extraordinary sum for Gay Porn. But that works out at $60 a pop to around 27,000 DVD's for each title.
The avg Gay Porn title will ship a couple thousand at best, a hit 5 to 8 thousand.
This goes along way to explaining Falcons hiring of Sean. They wanted to ensure Velvet Mafia was big hit.
